   Lane is not a big deal, but his daddy, Monte, is. He should stay put in Tampa Bay. The weather is nicer, there are more golf courses, the fishing is good, they ditched the ugly orange and white unis years ago, and the conditions at his current job are copacetic. If I were the 68 year old multimillionaire I know what my choice would be.

   After all, Florida is the place that, at the age of 68, you go to spend a couple of happy years until you die. Surely he knows this. You go to the old folks home, take a dip in the pool with the cocoons, get your second wind for a month or two, and then you die. There is no way out. A sinkhole will swallow him whole should he try to escape. I’d hate to see that happen.

   The term “PROCESSED” as used here, does not simply mean to win a game. A coach gets PROCESSED by The Dark Lord when the Crimson Tide dominates a football game and/or season so completely, that a school’s fan base becomes disheartened to the point that their coach is relived of his duties. So far, The Dark Lord has PROCESSED Ed Orgeron, Houston Nutt, Tommy Bowden, Phil Fulmer, Sly Croom, and, amazingly, even before doing battle with him, Tony Franklin. Tommy Tuberville is yet to be determined.
